Logbook Servicing in Townsville

  • Manufacturer schedule followed & logbook stamped
  • New car warranty stays valid
  • Genuine or approved parts & fluids

Keep Your New Car Warranty Intact

There's a common belief that a new car has to go back to the dealership for servicing or the warranty is void. It doesn't.

Under Australian Consumer Law, any qualified workshop can carry out logbook servicing as long as it follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses parts and fluids that meet specification. At Dan's Automotive, that's exactly what we do at our Townsville workshop. We work through the schedule for your vehicle's kilometres and age, stamp the book and keep a record of what was carried out and when.

Most of our customers came to us on price and stayed because they can talk to the person who worked on the car. For anything outside the schedule, see our automotive services. Call (07) 4725 5868 or book online.

What a Logbook Service Covers

What gets carried out depends on where your car sits in its schedule, but most services work through the same four areas.

  • Oil and filters replaced to manufacturer specification. We use the oil grade listed for your vehicle rather than a generic equivalent, and change oil, air and cabin filters at the intervals your schedule sets.

  • Fluids checked, topped up and tested. Coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluid are inspected for level and condition, since both coolant and brake fluid degrade with age rather than use.

  • Brakes, tyres and suspension inspected. We measure pad and rotor wear, check tyre condition and pressures, then look over bushes, shocks and steering components for play.

  • Book stamped and the service recorded. We stamp the logbook with the date, kilometres and workshop details, and keep our own record in case the book is ever lost.

FAQs

No. Australian Consumer Law allows any qualified mechanic to carry out logbook servicing without affecting the warranty, provided the manufacturer's schedule is followed and the parts and fluids meet specification.
